Everybody Yoga Eastport is passionate about making yoga accessible for everyBody. A yoga practitioner for over 20 years and teacher for 10+, home practice is still my favorite. I believe it is essential in your yoga journey and yoga practice. Two of the Niyamas refer to its importance; starting with Tapas or the burning desire for daily practice and next Svadyaya or self study.
Home practice aids in the study of ourselves. We are the one who have to bring the awareness into our own body, not just going through the motions or depending on our teachers to correct us.
Home Practice helps us listen to our inner voice, our own best teacher, our intuition, by forcing us to focus on ourselves, our actions, our breath.
Listening to your body, knowing when to push and when to rest. We are all different, different bodies, different needs. Home practice helps us honor these differences, going at our own pace and at our own time.
Working with a teacher and a yoga community is a wonderful way to expand your home practice. But sometimes because of time constraints, monetary constraints, mobility constraints, and distance prevent us from practicing this way. That shouldn’t mean you are prevented from practicing yoga.
I wrote this sequence book to be used as a workshop that you can use in your home practice. You can use it all together, try one of the extra mini sequences or take out a few to customize your own sequence.
This is a practice that focuses on a healthy back, strong core, and legs, all components needed to aid sciatic nerve issues.You don’t need to be in pain already to use it though! Anyone who uses their back on a daily basis, sits at at desk or drives/flys for long periods of time, or in general wants to take care of their body in the long term will benefit from this book.
